Product Forms: Steel, Chrome-Molybdenum (4140) Bars, Rods, and Forging Stock (For Aircraft Applications)
Physical conditions: Bars and rods shall be furnished in one of the following physical conditions:
- As forged
- As rolled
- Annealed
- Normalized
- Normalized and tempered
- Quenched and tempered
Surface conditions: Bars and rods shall be furnished in one of the following surface conditions:
- Black, as forged or rolled
- Pickled or blast cleaned
- Rough turned
- Cold finished
- Turned, ground, and polished
