Stainless Steel Alloy 304L | UNS# S30403 is an austenitic alloy and is the lower carbon variant of Stainless Steel grade 304. This grade can be welded without the issues seen in carbon precipitation hardened materials that reduces the corrosive and oxidation resistance properties. 304L demonstrates excellent strength and toughness at cryogenic temperatures, is non-magnetic, is easily welded, and resists atmospheric corrosion. Because of these properties, this metal is often used in chemical and petrochemical processing, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, surface condensers, food processing, petroleum refining, power generation, pulp and paper, and many other similar industries.
