Stainless Steel Alloy 430F is a ferritic stainless steel formulated for primary forming into wrought products. This materials properties are appropriate for the annealed condition and demonstrates a moderately low embodied energy among the wrought ferritic stainless steels.
Similar to Stainless Steel Alloy 430, 430F has increased sulfur to significantly improve machinability. Though similar, 430F does not form as easily as standard 430 due to the sulfur content but still demonstrates moderate ductility. 430F is often used for gears, fasteners, or solenoids within various industries.
