Stainless Steel Alloy AISI 420 is part of the martensitic family of stainless steels, specifically formulated for primary forming into wrought products. This material can have moderately low ductility and demonstrates moderately high electrical conductivity among the wrought martensitic stainless steels. Grade 420 stainless steel is a high-carbon steel that contains a minimum chromium content of 12%. Similar to other stainless steel grades, AISI 420 is hardened through heat treatment. Offering good ductility in the annealed state, excellent corrosion resistance properties when polished, surface grounded or hardened, and has the highest hardness.
