T.I. Announced as one of the First 20% of Aerospace Suppliers Globally to Achieve AS9100:2009 Revision C.

November 27th, 2011, Rockaway, NJ.

Titanium Industries (T.I.), the global leader in distribution of high performance metal, has announced this year’s registration to AS9100:2009 Revision C Registration (Rev.C) through it's registrar, NSF International Strategic Registrations – an achievement currently realized by less than 20% of aerospace suppliers globally.

AS9100 is a widely adopted and standardized Quality Management System for the Aerospace Industry. This International Standard specifies requirements for a Quality Management System where an organization: a) needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and b) aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system, and (c) the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Over the last year, T.I. evaluated its Quality Management System practices, policies, and procedures and its ability to meet these additional requirements which would win them accreditation across the company’s 16 world wide locations. The benefits realized throughout this process continue to include;

- Improvement in understanding, meeting and integrating T.I. OEM Customer and approved OEM Supplier requirements.
- Cost savings associated with more consistent verification methods and fewer verification audits.
- Cost reduction in supplier oversight and improvement in supplier performance.
- Improvement in quality and on-time delivery within the T.I. supply chain.
- Improved process performance and effectiveness, reducing scrap and customer returns.
-
Increased effectiveness of Corrective Actions and root cause analysis.

Greg Himstead, Market Manager, T.I.Aerospace said “This significant proactive achievement is further evidence of T.I.’s commitment to support the global airframe and engine supply chains that we service around the world. AS9100 Rev. C allows us to ensure reliable performance as we grow in response to the forecast,  increased build-rates, and to differentiate our company as a leading, focused aerospace high performance materials service provider’.

“T.I. is proud to be one of less than 20% of Aerospace suppliers worldwide to have currently earned this accreditation, which further demonstrates our commitment to our industry leading quality system.  This global effort was embraced by our entire organization, which encompasses our 16 worldwide locations over four continents and is the type of achievement that exemplifies the quality centric culture we are dedicated to maintain” said Brett Paddock, CEO, T.I.

Titanium Industries Continues to Expand

Posted January 19, 2011 by Brandi. .

TITANIUM INDUSTRIES CONTINUES TO EXPAND

Looking to penetrate the rapidly expanding Chinese market for aerospace, medical products and industrial business opportunities, Titanium Industries Inc., Rockaway, NJ, USA, has opened a sales office in Shanghai. Alexis Zhu, who has extensive experience in metal distribution networks and China’s aerospace industry, is the point person for Ti Industries’ sales of titanium products and high-performance metals such as stainless steel, nickel and cobalt-chrome-molybdenum.

The Shanghai office opened its doors on January 2. John Tien, Managing Director of Ti Industries Asia Inc.’s Taiwan branch, said the presence of Zhu at the Shanghai office reflects the company’s “determination and enthusiasm to service its Chinese customers,” which involves both local enterprise and foreign investment. Establishing the Shanghai office also demonstrates that Ti Industries is attuned to the evolving requirements of offshore companies seeking to do business in China. According to Tien, the Chinese market is now focused on “high domestic demand” rather than simply carrying the label of being “cheap-labor intensive.”

Brett S. Paddock, P.E., President and Chief Executive Officer of Ti Industries, said the Shanghai office is “the logical next step in our strategic global expansion. Titanium Industries Asia, headquartered out of Taipei, Taiwan, has experienced great success. A physical presence in China will help facilitate this growth more effectively by improving our presence in Asia as well as our alignment with key global customers and markets.”

Jeff Wise, Ti Industries’ Vice President of sales and marketing, said the company has distribution centers in Taipei and Bangalore, India.  The Shanghai office reports to Taipei, which in turn reports directly to Wise. He indicated that, in addition to metal sales and marketing in Shanghai, the company’s long-range plan is to ramp up its distribution and value-added operations.

Ti Industries will compete aggressively in China and the larger Asian market by bringing “an understanding of value-added services and metal distribution to users of titanium and high-performance metals,” Wise declared, noting that metal distribution channels are still in the early stages of the growth curve. “Until a few years ago, distribution of metals in China wasn’t even largely considered,” he continued. “China has 1.3 billion people and is now the world’s second-leading economy behind the United States.”

Outlining the company’s regional business strategy for Asia, Wise said the Shanghai office represents Ti Industries’ desire to serve its existing global customer base as well as explore new business prospects. “There are core global customers whom we service and many of them are either expanding their own operations into China or sourcing more from that part of the world,” he explained. “We need to be there to support them. There is also a significant, growing demand for infrastructure and industrial applications within China, such as power plants, refineries and aerospace. We want to be there to service that demand.

“I have seen the cultural and economic evolution of China over the past 20 years,” Wise continued. “The Chinese people are educated, very warm and friendly and embrace new technology and ideas.” Regarding  China’s business culture, Wise said Chinese industrial engineers and entrepreneurs value “attention to detail.”

Posted September 20, 2010 by John. .

Summary: Titanium Industries has implemented the metal service center software STRATIX from the metal industry software specialist Invera, at their location in Taipei, Taiwan. Rockaway, NJ – Titanium Industries, a titanium and high performance metal service center company, has implemented the metal service center ERP software STRATIX from the metal industry software specialist Invera, at their location in Taipei, Taiwan. The entire implementation in Taiwan took less than six weeks.

The first phase of implementation had included all seven locations in the U.S., and an additional location in Montreal, Canada. All implementations included sales, purchasing, receiving, inventory management, certification management, multi-step production, delivery and logistics planning, invoicing, and financials.

Search for Quality
As Titanium Industries’ business grew larger, more global, and more complex, they looked to Invera to provide a system that could accommodate their stringent quality and certification requirements, while enabling them to operate efficiently. TI found their solution in STRATIX.

Titanium Industries implemented a full complement of STRATIX ERP metal software features in Taiwan, including Quote and Sales Order Entry, metal price book, outside processing functions, multi-step processing, and on-line shipment planning. A seamless integration of native metal industry terminology, functions, and features made STRATIX more user-friendly and easy to deploy with minimum implementation costs and no modifications.
